Most full bathrooms we fit are finished in four to five working days. Here is what happens on each of them, so you know exactly what to expect in your house.
Day one, strip out and first fix
Dust sheets go down on the landing and stairs before anything else. The old suite, tiles and flooring come out, and any rotten timber or bad pipework gets dealt with while the walls are open.
First fix plumbing and electrics follow: new hot and cold runs, waste positions, radiator or towel rail tails, and cabling for downlights and the extractor fan.
Day two, boarding and preparation
Walls are made good, tile backer or moisture-resistant board goes up, and wet areas are tanked. Floors are levelled and strengthened where a tray or large-format tile needs it.
This is the day that decides whether the finished room lasts fifteen years or fifteen months, so we do not rush it.
Days three and four, tiling and fitting
Tiling or wall panelling goes on, then the suite is set: bath or tray, WC, vanity, taps and shower. Grouting and silicone follow once everything is fixed and level.
Day five, finishing and clean up
Flooring, trims, mirrors, cabinets, downlights and the extractor are finished off, everything is tested, and then we clean. Carpets vacuumed, drive swept, rubbish taken away.
Bigger projects, two bathrooms, a new cloakroom, or a room that needs building work first, take longer, and we will tell you honestly at quote stage.
